AQS11-06 David Fernandez Multi Media Portfolio

  In this project, I created this mandala by creating a  new file  on photoshop. I then clicked mandala and I created a  mandala  using the design that I wanted my mandala to have.

  I chose a background I liked from my photos and put it in Photoshop, adjusting its size. Next, I took a picture of my friend  running with a ball in a different direction to make it seem like two people were chasing the ball. Then, I added a picture of me in the middle to create the impression of two teams facing off. I cut out myself from layers two and three using the lasso tool and placed myself in various positions. After that, I added text to the picture or flyer, changing the font, color, and position of the words. Lastly, I adjusted the colors and hues to make it seem like sunlight was shining from one side, highlighting my face and body. By doing these steps, I created a visually interesting image with a story to tell. I used 5 Layers in total.

  I created the wallpaper by having a space/galaxy background to make the wallpaper look more beautiful. Then I followed the steps from the tutorial to rotate each letter of my word, just like I did in the groovy tutorial.

  Graphic Layer 1= background image of the Earth on fire on one side, with the text “Summer Turning in an Oven”.  Also I added a photo with the world being sad, depicting the negative effects of climate change. Text Layer 2= Text with words saying “Save the world from climate change,” and “Climate change is directly contributing to humanitarian emergencies from heatwaves,  wildfires, floods, tropical storms and hurricanes and they are increasing in scale,  frequency and intensity.”

  Layer 1= On my schedule I changed the brightness and the contrast by increasing them both. Layer 2= For layer 2 I made a layer mask for me playing soccer with the school team to remove the opposite team’s player from the image. Layer 3= For layer 3 I also made the layer mask to remove the things from the background. I also changed the hue and saturation to pop out the colors in the image in order to attract the viewers attention. Layer 4= For layer 4 I made the layer mask to emphasize me as a kid holding an umbrella. In addition, I increased the brightness and contrast and as well the hue and saturation. Layer 5= Lastly for Layer 5 I increased hue and saturation and created a layer mask to mainly show me with the soccer ball, being chased by another player.

  After researching and having a discussion with my classmates, Multimedia art can be defined as a form of artistic expression that combines multiple mediums and disciplines, such as visual art, sound, video, digital media, performance, and interactive elements. It often involves technology and can be presented in various formats, including installations, digital projections, video art, virtual reality and augmented reality. Multimedia art combines different types of media to create engaging and groundbreaking experiences. It mixes old and new media using tools like painting, sculpture, video, sound, performance, and tech you can interact with. This blend lets artists stretch their creativity and connect with viewers in fresh and powerful ways. As an art form, it keeps changing and has an impact on how we see and feel art.
